Old Morgan Ready for the off

When you are involved in a rally all of the friends and neighbours get into the act. You will also have to contend with the work of your more immediate friends who prepare your route maps and such like aids.

These of course need to be watched very closely.

The sport is really great fun and with the uses that we can now make of such toys as mobile phones and web navigation its not just the overall car performance and navigation that is important

Rally for Fun

Picture of the old rally team assembling in Bargate during the early 30's. As you can see from the photos there were not many comforts in those days of rallying.

Generally speaking the teams would set off into the wide blue yonder and hope to meet up at some local pub at the end.

In those days of course the roads were a lot quieter than they are today and although the cars looked as though they were speedy and second hand Trabby would have a suprising performance with these teams.

More up to date

Of course the modern motor vehicle is safer, faster, warmer, ICEd and has all the other things that go along with reliablity.

Making the best of it will always be the way, in fact your participation today will give you a repatoir of war stories for your kids in the future
