A Charity dedicated to the rescue and restoration of ex-Aldershot & District Traction Co vehicles
Services and activities offered:
Assistance in the rescue and preservation of buses of the Aldershot & District Traction Company.
The objectives of the charity are to provide historical and educational facilities showing the heritage of local bus transport in Hampshire & Surrey.
Long term the charity would like to provide a museum and 'bus depot'. The charity currently has four single deck buses and 3 double deck bus.
The single deck buses are a long term restoration project, their age being 74 years. These do show the engineering and woodworking skills of the past and will be a challenge to preservationists to restore.
Charges: Membership is £10 per year. There is no charge for travelling on a bus.
Restrictions: We will be visiting schools on educational visits. No age limit.
Special needs catered for: Wheelchair access to one bus is available. One member is wheelchair bound but participates in all aspects of restoration. Some restrictions will apply for safety reasons.
