COUNTRY WALK CLASSIC WALK ALONG THE SEVEN SISTERS Sunday 7 April 2019

Seaford to Eastbourne, via view of Beachy Head, and Beachy Head Pub about 14 miles.

A beautiful classic walk along the cliff tops with views.  Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security – it is arduous, it can be windy, sometimes wet and if you aren’t careful it can be dangerous.

Where we meet:  Outside main ticket office London Victoria Station. 08.25 for 09:00 train to Seaford.  Or Seaford train station 11.24.

How much is it?  We each buy £22.70 on Group Saver, Eastbourne day return.

Do I have to walk all 14 miles?  We can stop off for a cuppa and toilets at either Exceat, Birling Gap or a drink at Beachy Head pub where you can get buses off the walk to either Seaford or Eastbourne.  Food is bring your own picnic lunch.  Don’t forget to bring something to drink – you’ll get thirsty.

When do we finish?  Can’t say for sure, depends on who is walking and I won’t be forcing the pace as I want everyone to have an enjoyable walk.  At 2mph should get to  Eastbourne station for 7pm.  Return train journey 2hr 16 mins.

Equipment:  For this Spring walk, please wear walking boots (preferable to walking shoes).  Full length pants (denim stays soggy and cold when wet) jumper/fleece or quilted/puffer jacket; warm hat, gloves.  Bring waterproof jacket, overtrousers, backpack (to put them in when it gets too warm), picnic lunch, munchies, at least 2L of drinking fluids/water, torch, whistle and mobile phone, money, paper tissues, liquid soap or hand sanitiser.  Sunscreen cream, sunglasses, sunhat, and of course, something to take stunning pictures with!
