Graham Bryant, Chair of the Hampshire Astronomical Society, will be delivering his presentation on Space Vehicleswhich explores how scientists look to transport their science packages around a planetary body in order to maximise the investment in getting there.
Basingstoke Discovery Centre invite Science enthusiasts and Basingstoke Cafe Sci to learn more about space transportation on the Moon and Mars
What's it about?
The investment by scientists and engineers in getting a probe to the surface of another planetary body is huge. It therefore makes sense to be able to move your science packages around the planetary body in order to maximise the investment in getting there.
Graham Bryant, Chair of the Hampshire Astronomical Society, will be delivering his presentation on Space Vehicleswhich explores how scientists look to transport their science packages around a planetary body in order to maximise the investment in getting there.
Graham Bryant will discuss some of the problems the early designers had to overcome and will look at some of the results from the rovers currently on the surface of Mars (some of the images are in 3D).
Speaker: Graham Bryan FRAS
A Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and currently Chairman of the Hampshire Astronomical Group. Graham has lectured around the South of England to interest groups and other astronomical societies. He has presented at international conferences and also has been a tour guide for a number of Aurora tours in Norway and Greenland.
