Cafe Sci: AI, Jobs and Universal Basic Income

Unfortunately we have not been able to find a speaker for October, so we will be holding a TED Talk video and discussion at the Red Lion Hotel.  The Red Lion Hotel can be found further along London Street near the Tea Bar. 

We have arranged for exclusive use of the Snug area at the back of the bar from 7.00pm with the TED talks and discussions starting at around 7.30pm. This is a smallish location that can hold up to 15 people comfortably ... but at least it should be quieter than The Maidenhead Inn where we were last time.  

The subject of the TED talks and discussion tonight will be focused around AI and the Future of jobs and the Guaranteed Basic Income. This is a subject we think will be of topical interest following the recent debate in Parliament about the problems with the implementation of the Universal Credit system. 

Entry is free and open to everyone, but we do encourage you to buy a drinks, tea, coffee  and cakes from the bar to show your support for the The Red Lion Hotel who are sponsoring the meeting by providing the venue. 

FORMAT

The format of the evening will be meeting from 7pm and starting the first TED talk on the bar TV from 7.30pm.  Each TED Talk lasts around 15-20 minutes with a break for discussion between each video. We aim to finish as usual around 9.00pm.
